Lake Vermilion, located about three and a half hours from the Twin Cities, just north of Tower, Minnesota on Hwy 169. In the Superior National Forest and on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, Vermilion has a reputation as one of the hottest muskie lakes in the upper midwest. It also sports large numbers of walleye, bass and crappie. Vermilion covers more than 40,000 acres, is  27 miles long and has over 350 islands. This is an outstanding fishery with plenty of bays, inlets, structure and drop-offs.
Lake Mille Lacs, located in central Minnesota, is the second largest lake in Minnesota, encompassing a whopping +132,500 acres of muskie infested water. With an average depth of 21 feet (max. 43ft.), Lake Mille Lacs is 13.5 miles wide and 20. 5 miles long and has over 85 miles of shore line.

Besides being a haven for muskies, it has excellent populations of  northern pike, walleye, bass, crappies and perch. As an added bonus,  Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley are within a half hour drive - after you caught your limit.
Lake Minnetonka is the 10th largest lake in Minnesota. Just minutes from downtown Minneapolis, its nearly 15,000 acres offer several game fish species including muskie, northern pike, walleye, and bass. Structure, structure, structure.
